I have lost almost 60 pounds!

I was heavy my entire adult life. I gained and accumulated weight after having each of my four children. I failed at every diet center program. I wasted time and money signing up for many gym memberships. In 2009, I stepped on the scale and realized that I was the heaviest I have ever been in my life. I had allowed my 5'1" frame to carry over 185 pounds. I was depressed and tired. I developed thyroid issues. Fearing the side effect of hormonal drugs, I refused to take my prescribed medications. I needed to do something right away. I knew that my diet and more, importantly, lack of exercise significantly contributed to my health condition. First thing on the agenda was to get moving and become active again.

I wanted to find a workout that was intense, yet fun so I could stick to it. I remembered seeing a feature article on Boogie Box (BBX). The more research I did on BBX, the more it appealed to me. I decided to try a class with Coach Lucy Quitoriano in the Spring of 2010 and I was immediately hooked! The music, choreography, and energy was exactly what I was looking for in a work out. After a couple of months, I committed to at least two classes per week. In a few weeks, people started noticing results. I was losing inches so quickly, I couldn't believe it. Shopping for new clothes was definitely exciting! In the Spring of 2011, I won our studio's 60-day challenge for "most inches lost". It was the first time I saw BBX's effectiveness in real numbers and percentages. I was absolutely amazed!

BBX has impacted my life in so many ways. I have lost almost 60 pounds. I dropped from a women's size 16 to a junior's size 5. I no longer have thyroid issues. At age 44, I'm in the best shape ever, both physically and mentally. I believe in it so much that I decided to pursue BBX coach certification and help others in my former situation. I am proud to say that I am a BBX success story. I wish to thank Dede for her brilliant creation and Coach Lucy Quitoriano for helping me in countless ways to achieve my fitness goals.
